Card Types

Destinations

Provide RP at the start of your turn. Only one Destination may be played per turn. Planets and Moons are played as separate Destinations.

Planets: Provide 1 RP each turn

Moons: Provide 2 RP each turn. A planet must be in play to play a moon. If you play a Moon and the Planet that it orbits is in play, you gain +5RP when you play it.

Astronauts

Provide RP on Deploy or Move. Actions on Astronaut cards occur every time they Deploy or Move. A Destination must be in play to Deploy an Astronaut onto the Destination. Any number of Astronauts may be on one Destination.

Doctor: Return an Astronaut from your discard pile to the top of your deck. +4RP for each Doctor.

Engineer: Draw a card, discard a card . + 3 RP for each Technology.

Scientist: Draw a card. +1RP for each Card in Hand.

Scout: Scan. This Unit may Move 2 times per Move. + 3RP.

 

Technology

Provide RP at the start of your turn. RP can be spent to Activate. Only one Technology may be played per turn. An Astronaut must be in play to Build a Technology. Technology do not need to be placed on a Destination when being built. Each Technology may only be activated once per turn.

Mine: 15RP: Draw 2 cards, discard a card. +2RP per turn for each Engineer.

Hospital: 10RP: Add 1 Move for the turn. +2 RP per turn for each Doctor

Lab: 20RP: Draw 2 cards. +2 RP per turn for each Scientist

Observatory: 20RP: Draw 3 cards and place 2 from your hand on top of your deck. +2RP per turn for each Scout

EVENT CARDS

There are 5 types of Event Cards. These are interactive cards that have a big impact on the game. Try adding events to your deck to make it more exciting and raise the stakes! Make sure all players are using the same number of Events in their deck. If Events are being used, all players MUST include both Special Events. When an Event is played it goes into the Discard pile. While other card types are limited to one per turn, you can use any number of Events in one turn. If you save up a few, they can have HUGE impacts on the game.

Direct Events

Can be played when the Player chooses. Effect one player.

Asteroid: A player of your choice with two or more Destinations places one of their Destinations in the discard pile.*

Meteoroid: A player of your choice places one of their Technology cards in the discard pile.

Lost Signal: A player of your choice discards a card. If they cannot, -10RP.

Duration Events

Can be played when the Player chooses. Effect all players other than the user.

EMP: Until your next turn, other players cannot: – Activate Technology – Gain RP from Technology

Gravity Well: Until your next turn, other players cannot: – Deploy Astronauts – Move Astronauts

Radiation: Until your next turn, other players cannot: – Gain RP from Destinations

Sudden Events

Occur when they are drawn from the deck. Effect happens immediately.

Asteroid Field: All players with two or more Destinations places one of their Destinations in the Discard pile.*

Meteor Shower: All players place one Technology of their choosing in the Discard pile.

Super Nova: All players discard a card. If they cannot, -20RP

Special Events

Unique Events with game changing effects.

Total Eclipse: Take an extra turn after you complete this one. (Can be played when the Player chooses.)

Black Hole: End your turn immediately. Take no further actions. Do not draw or discard cards. (Astronauts still gain RP.) (Occurs when drawn)

Historic Events

Momentous Occasions or Objects from the History of Space Exploration. Provide +20RP when played. Can be played at any time during your turn. Two Historic Event cards are included in your deck:

Canadarm (CORRECTION: 266,000 ks should show 266,000 kg.)

Apollo 11

 *If a Destination is put into the Discard pile because of the effect of either Asteroid or Asteroid Field, any Astronauts Deployed to that Destination are also placed in the Discard pile. Don’t worry, the Doctor Astronaut can bring them back!
